FAT-test hos ABB

Developing our 50 MW seawater heat pump has reached a new milestone; we have started testing the system elements. (English below)

driftspunkter.

The world's largest seawater heat pump requires an efficient controller - a VFD (variable-frequency drive) developed and supplied by ABB. Project Manager Rasmus Victor Fauerholdt from Ingeniør Huse A/S has attended FAT on the VFD in Switzerland. FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) is where we verify that the system and its components work correctly, in accordance with the requirements specification.

ABB's VFD is an impressive 14 meters long and weighs just over 12 tons. The VFD ensures that the heat pump is constantly kept at its optimal operating points. This saves energy for the entire system. The controller is, of course, linked to the overall control of the electrical boiler, the biomass boiler plant and the accumulation tank, making sure the total district heating system is running
efficiently - for the benefit of the consumers and their heat in the radiators.

ABB's VFD passed the test and will now be boxed and shipped to Denmark to be installed together with the seawater heat pump during spring 2022.
